Of course I couldn't leave the house without capturing the moment.
Here's the classic "I can't believe my mom is making me do this especially while the sun is in my eyes" pose:

Then, I asked for a "Jimmy pose" and got this:

I originally thought I would walk him to class on the first day. Most parents do. I always have. As we pulled in the parking lot, he saw some friends. Lots of friends. But not his friends' mothers. Jimmy turns to me and says, "I think I've got it from here, Mom." ...And there you have it. Jimmy is officially growing up.
I managed to save my tears until after we said goodbye. Then I came home and played/snuggled with Luke. We watched "UP" together. His new favorite movie. Luke really likes the old man in the movie. He's fascinated with the guy's gray hair. I am not kidding. After the movie ended, Luke asked, "Mom, when will I go gray?" "Won't be too long," I replied. "You are growing up fast too."
